The autumn season of the Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra begins in radiant mode as international stars Paula Ernesaks, player of the French horn in the Berlin Philharmonic, and Moritz Kallenberg, a German tenor fast making a name for himself at Central European opera houses, guide us to nocturnal landscapes in music by Britten. The second half of this concert led by the OCO’s Artistic Director Malin Broman escorts us through the youthful strains of Schubert’s fifth symphony in the wake of Swedish composer Britta Byström’s Walk to Schubert.
