Lilja Haatainen, violin
The Finnish violin virtuoso Lilja Haatainen, a dazzling talent who already won the international Louis Spohr Competition at the age of 12, captivates audiences as soloist with the Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra. Mozart’s fresh and lyrical Violin Concerto leads, through the farewell-filled slow movement of Beethoven’s String Quartet, towards Haydn’s rocket-like, sparkling Symphony No. 1. Sally Beamish’s vibrant work Hover circles around the same emotional landscape. The programme is conducted by the orchestra’s Artistic Director, Kasmir Uusitupa.
