A new commission by Veli-Matti Puumala is a tribute to the first 50 years of the OCO. Our soloist is the great Nordic cellist Andreas Brantelid in Max Bruch’s heart-breaking Kol Nidrei and Tchaikovsky’s classic Rococo Variations. Bartók’s Divertimento for strings leads us back in time to early 20th-century Central Europe. Wielding the baton is Johannes Gustavsson, a collaborator with the OCO for many years.
