When British conductor Jonathan Bloxham makes his debut with the OCO, there will naturally be some British music on the programme. The concert will kick off with a Prelude & Fugue by Benjamin Britten never before heard in Kokkola and culminate in the virtuosic Sonata for Strings by William Walton. Sandwiched between these two works will be the C-major Cello Concerto by Joseph Haydn, with Turku Cello Competition winner Tatu Kauppinen as the soloist.
