The Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra’s Christmas concert features soprano Iris Candelaria, winner of both the Timo Mustakallio Singing Competition and the Lappeenranta Singing Competition.
This year, the programme explores the symbolism of Christmas through Corelli’s Christmas Concerto as well as the world of French masterpieces. Sibelius’s songs lead the way towards traditional Christmas carols, crowned by a collaboration with the Mäntykangas music class choir. The concert is conducted by Artistic Director Kasmir Uusitupa, who also performs one of the solo parts in Corelli’s Christmas Concerto—but who will play the other?
