Finnish conductor Dima Slobodeniouk, star of the international concert halls, returns to Kokkola for a long-awaited visit with a programme examining topics of momentous importance: Saint-Saëns’ The Deluge in the story of creation, while the music of Polish-born Weinberg strongly reflects his experiences in the post-war Soviet Union. The concert will also feature the premiere of a work, Ele, for clarinet and string orchestra by Lotta Wennäkoski, with Lauri Sallinen as the soloist.
